A Study on Security Guideline for Home Healthcare Medical Device

Abstract

|
Medical devices and systems are being designed and operated as special purpose computers. There has been a rapidly growing integration and interconnection of these devices. Medical device security represents a growing problem within the healthcare industry. The device manufacturer must safeguard critical patient information and provide sufficient security measures in its products. However the guideline for implementing these security related matters have not been provided. In this study, we have developed security guideline for home healthcare medical device that will provide minimum requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information the home healthcare medical device creates, receive, maintains, or transmits.
